so......got the ole conventional wisdom on me headphoney phones hit the booze BIG time on 3rd March bender ended with me chucked in a divvy van and put in hospital to get on the saline drip...................................back in detox now 6 days sober

Ok its 4.34am but isn't that the most creatively aware period for a writer/artist?

I got Bob Dylan Nashville Skyline the other day and some Aussie stoner rock from 90s u wouldn't know it seeing as yr Yanks n all. Tumbleweed. Mark Of Cain. Ammonia. Spiderbait. Magic Dirt.

All as good or better than all those SUPERSTAR Yank bands who get all the money and credit and are miserable anyway. Whats the Fucking point in being in a fucking band?

What is the fucking point?

free drugs? free beer? sex? boredom? Inability to stand on yr own two fucking feet?

Well me I went to university studied my arse off I write ........

Yeah performed on stage in theatre.

Thanks for playing the worst song off a crap album.

BUILT TO SPILL- Live 01/01/11

It was really awesome to see this band sober- such a contrast to the last time I saw them as Luke C can testify- I was blind drunk before they started and can't remember bugger-all.

Tonight, Pete came with me- and coming down the stairs the first notes I heard were very familiar, the start of the song 'Traces'.

They actually played a lot from their 90s catalogue; 'The Plan', 'Sidewalk', 'Carry The Zero' and 'You Were Right' from KILAS; all of which were brilliant, especially 'Carry The Zero'- a personal favourite. Although no 'Timetrap' :-(

There were a few I didn't recognize, possibly off the first two albums or maybe off 'Ancient Melodies...'~ only ONE song off the new album - 'Hindsight- which was surprising and a little disappointing as I really like that album. (eg. AIsle 13, Pat, Planting Seeds???)

GOT MY TICKET!!

Yesterday finally got a ticket for January 1, 2011 in Richmond Melbourne.
Can't freaking wait! Yeeehaaarrgghh!

There Is No Enemy and backwards

Aisle 13 is the greatest rock song since Temporarily Blind. Lately I've realized that Ancient Melodies from the future is also a beautiful record. This band has a knack for outstanding opening tracks. Strange is my most played song besides 2000 Lightyears by Green Day lol.
And 'In My Mind' is a brilliant example of pschedelic music/lyrics.

Look forward to seeing BTS live again!

peace

The New Album

Hey I'm Sam and I've been a BTS fan since around 2001-2. Being in regional Australia it was great to hear rock music that had challenging ideas, beautifully crafted song structures and also a nice big amount of fuzzy warm guitars and vocals. Truly I have played 'Keep it like a Secret' a HELL of a lot of times and I still love it.

Fast forward to 2005-6 and I find 'You in Reverse'. By this stage I'm almost finished an Arts degree, have a girlfriend and live in the big city. (Melbourne). I especially love 'Goin Against Your Mind' and 'Traces' on that album.

Amazingly, at the end of 2007 I have the opportunity to see the band live!! No longer have girlfriend and personal or emotional life pretty much a shambles but I'm very grateful I finally got to see them perform....just a pity I don't remember much.
